What an Australian tax invoice must include

The ATO lists the mandatory elements for a tax invoice: the words "tax invoice" shown prominently, your identity and your ABN, the date, a description of what's sold with quantity and price, the GST amount (shown separately, or a statement that the total includes GST), and which sales are taxable.^[1]

• You must issue a tax invoice for a taxable sale over A$82.50 (GST-inclusive) when the customer asks.^[1]
• For invoices of A$1,000 or more, also include the buyer's identity or ABN and show the exact GST amount.^[1]
